I have a 1997 BLS model. As members know, these were manufactured in the SAAB factory in Sweden.
My air conditioning is faulty. There is some cooling but not very much - it used to be like ice!
My local garage has just charged me 99€ to inform me that it's full of coolant and I must take it to a Cadillac dealer.
(I'm in France and my language abilities are poor)
There aren't any in Cadillac BLS dealers in France that I know of. SAAB have stopped trading.
HELP.

The temperature guage on the instrument panel is no longer functioning - could this be the cause? I damaged the sensor under the front of the car a few months ago, but as it's just for outside temperature i don't see that it would impact on the A/C
Any readers had any similar issues?
I'd appreciate any help.

Ok, couple of things, I'm assuming you meant a 2007 model BLS.

I'm really sorry to say too, that your local garage has by UK standards, completely overcharged you. 99 Euro for checking your aircon gas is ridiculous. I've just paid GBP 29.99 about 40 euro for a full aircon service.

To be honest, a garage that specialises in car airconditioning should be able to diagnose the fault for you. Our cars are not that exclusive. Much of the components used in the BLS are just borrowed from other cars in the GM range. You could try your local Opel dealership? The Opel Vectra 1.9 diesel shares the same engine and most likely, the aircon system. They might be able to help?

Finally, judging from what I've found on the internet, there are still Cadillac dealers in France. Just because the BLS is no longer produced, any official Cadillac dealer will still have access to the Cadillac BLS workshop manuals and software. It just depends on how far away from a dealership you are. Please see following link:
