I understand if you have the factory tow package the hitch receiver hides behind a small hatch and there are two latches that rotate to remove the hatch, expose the receiver and allow the hitch ball mount to be installed. When you are not towing nothing shows is my understanding. Nice and clean. Has anyone been successful in duplicating this hidden receiver/hatch with aftermarket equipment.

My 2020 Premimum Luxury came with the removable panel on the rear bumper cover that comes off by removing two screws on the bottom of the cover. It didn’t have a factory hitch or towing package. I had an aftermarket receiver installed … you just need to remove the bumper cover, and the crash bar that is exposed after the bumper cover is off. Since I only use the hitch for a cargo, or bicycle carrier, I have no need for the wiring harness. If you have the removable cover, you should be able to install the receiver hitch without issues.

As far as the cover is concerned, I did post about this a little while back. My DYI conversion has been working quite nicely.
