Hey all.

I recently purchased a 2015 ATS 2.0T Luxury with 6 speed manual. I've seen that there are possibly 2 different manual transmissions. Is that true? How do I know which mine has?

Also, I'm thinking a "better" aftermarket shifter would be nicer to use and possibly has a better lockout method for Reverse. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

2.0T comes with TR3160, only aftermarket shifter is a Hurst for the Camaro 2.0T

Crakavelli is correct. Every ATS 2.0T manual has the same TR3160 transmission. The only other option was the, I believe, TR6160 on the ATS-V. From a shifter standpoint, the difference is that our reverse is Left-Up and the V is Right-Down.

You can mount an aftermarket knob, it's just not a straight swap. You have to cut the boot from your knob since it's all 1 piece, then use a collar or tuck it in on itself. There is some info in the facebook group (ATS/ATS-V Owners) about this.

You could look into the option of fitting a Camaro shift handle, as it uses the same Tremec TR-3160 transmission, but it has a different shift pattern, so the only part that would work easily is an aftermarket handle.
