Yes it does play dvd Roms and i found the code to be able to play dvds while driving. just in case you were wondering. yea i think im selling it, the only thing that doesnt work is the 6 disk cd changer have no idea why or what happened to it i try loading a cd and it says disk error. and you would need to get a new face plate because i took it off to try and fix my cd player and i ripped a wire.

awesome! my 6disc cd player works fine, but for some reason this past winter the dvd rom/nav part went out. it will only load any disc i put in and plays for about 5 seconds and then t quits. Seems like a bad ground problem. I've opened it and tried to fix it... but that didn't work. I found that there is a rechargeable lithuim battery in the dvd rom drive. does anyone know what that is for?

anyway, it would be perfect if you would sell me your unit. I can swap out just the top dvd rom unit with your working one. this hopefully should work.

I can not PM yet. please let me know how much you're willing to part with it. (poor college student here)
Thanks

I just had my pioneer double din dvd installed yesterday...unfortunately because of the way the bose premium system works, you have to bypass the factory amp. Also the sub in the back has to come out...

It sucks but check and see if your system is pre amped as many aftermarket radios are. Mine sounds awesome with the bose speakers even without the sub, I still have just as much bass.

So basically, take out the factory amp, unhook or just completely remove the sub in the back and your ok. Also If you want that bose sub back or just a whole new one just get a mono amp and wire the sub to that, bose or aftermarket both will work.

See i figured that would be the case, i have my subs and another amp already hooked up, and i took out the stock sub because i needed to plug a line converter on those wires. but i found some other forum that i guy had the same bose system but he had it in a escalade and there was an adapter that connected to the back of the new headunit and plug right into the factory harness. it also aloud you to still have the door chimes and stuff. but i cant find one for the CTS :nono: But you can still you use the speakers though right? and then just put another amp to those? Because i would also like to put tweeters and PA's on my car.
