Since my factory installed CD player is dead, I want to install an aftermarket CD changer. At what electrical source would it be best to tap in for the power? The main fusebox is under the ashtray, very convenient, and another is in the trunk by the antenna. Has anyone done this themselves, or should I trust the local Car Stereo store to install it for me?

I just installed a changer. I tapped into the radio leads except for the ground. For that, i ran a long wire all the way to the electonics ground in the little black box in the battery compartment.

Splicing into the radio leads is a pain - they're very short. On my '89, there's a black plug, half of which is the connector for the front or rear speakers, the other half has the power and antenna leads. If I recall, there's a red wire that is hot at all times, a yellow that is hot when accessory power is active, and another yellow which is the antenna signal.

BTW, the radio is located behind the glove box (remove the four screws at the corners). It's a metal box screwed onto the climate control system. The parts in the dash are just remote controllers.
