Hey all

Those who have owned 05 STS for 1 year or more, What's your opinion now?

If you were given the option, would you buy the car again? :worship: ... or switch to another one?

I have had my 05STS 1SE for a year and love it! It has assumed the name of "Murphy" referring to its legacies to Murphy Law. Mrs. Murphy, the voice of Nav, although very, very outdated in her data, is a welcome companion.

I am approaching one year and do like the car but it's not one of the great ones that I have owned. Call me crazy:cookoo: but my all time favorite Caddy was my 89 Edlorado. I think if I were buying today I would take a good look at the 06 DTS mainly for it's leg room both front and back. Anybody want to assume an 05 STS lease?

I have owned mine for just short of a year. Had a couple problems with it, noise in the front end which only took them 8 weeks to fix. 4 subwoofers and it still rattles.

If I had to do it all over again, I would. I really enjoy the car, it looks great and rides smooth. Has decent speed and always gets the looks. I might consider a DTS cause I like the super clean look of it in the back. But do not think I would buy the grandpa car. When this lease is up, might buy another one. But thats 3 years off

Had it almost a year. If Cadillac would look after its owners regarding the Onstar issue and updated nav discs for free like the 06 I would do it again. Might give more consideration to the new DTS with the added leg room but overall a very good car and mucho fun to drive.

I got mine in either March or April, so it hasn't been a year yet.

I LOVE THIS CAR.

If I was to buy another car, I would probably buy this one again (only maybe this time get the V8).

Too bad I just don't use it often enough to really appreciate it. Business being dead, having a very flexible job that allows you to telecommute, and taking all online classes pretty much means I don't need to leave the house much. I filled up my tank about a week and a half ago and I still have about 7/8 of a tank left.

I've had mine for about 8 months now and have already had the rear axle replaced and drivers power seat wiring replaced. Other than those, the car has been good. However, it is starting to rattle and squeak....anyone else experiencing this??? I would probably get another one, but i think i will opt for the V-8 with magnetic ride suspension.

At low speeds (approx 25-40) there would be a loud whining coming from the rear end. It got even louder under light acceleration. The dealership drove it it and said that it was coming from the axle and it would need to be replaced. Mmmmmmm.......$50,000 car and the axle needs to be replace after 5000miles. I've had a '99 and '02 STS and never had any problems with them like I do with the '05. They were much more solid vehicles. I don't know about you guys, but when I spend $50,000 on a car, I want it to feel like I'm driving a $50,000 car!!!!!!!

I hate to say it but, u kno what they say about 1st year cars. Reason why I stayed away from the 1997 Corvette, thank GOD. So far I haven't had any major problems except 4 that "starting issue" back in April. The issue was taken care of and I have been happy ever since.

I would like to put more performance oriented shocks on the car tho, maybe Bilstein. It rides a little soft to me when I hitting corners at 85MPH.:D

Had ours since January. Love it. It's awesome. Like you a major irritation however are the rattles. The headliner behind the sunroof rattles constantly and there is a sweak coming from the lower right dash somewhere. Also, right front tire rubs on the fender well in tight left turns. Onstar support, the DVD in motion issue and remote start not recognizing the seat warmer setting all minor irritants.
Aside from these, great car and would probably do it again.

Had my 2005 STS since Feb. Traded a 2004 CTS. The STS runs rings around the CTS. Love the car, would buy it again. No problems so far except a little wind noise from the back door. It's fun to drive & I feel good driving it. :)

bought a tricked out sts for my wife 4 months ago. everything except all wheel drive. i drive it when ever she lets me. i will feel the same in 8 months i am sure. was between a 5 series and the STS ... i wanted the 5 series .. wife wanted the sts. i am glad she won. i think a simpler vehicle, not over cooked. people do not like the interior ... i think it is very clean.

later
