I have now been to the dealer twice for an intermittent motor grinding driver seat fix. The first time, the SA did hear the grinding as the seat moved into position; however, when the car was brought to the tech, the sound was never heard again, thus no attempt to fix. Brought car in a second time. Even though we couldn't get the seat to grind, the tech removed the seat and cleaned/greased the tracks. No grinding for a few days, but then the intermittent grinding started again. Not the this is so bad, but it really shouldn't be happening in this class car. Anyone having the same problem? Was there a fix and if so, what was it? Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Is sand or other dirt being dragged into the car? That would explain why cleaning and greasing would last only so long.

Does the grinding occur in one direction of seat movement or both directions?

It's my wife's car. She plays tennis on hartru courts, so her shoes do attract the hartru granules. But she does clean her shoes well before entering the car and I'm always making sure that the car's floor is clean...which it is. Thus, i can't really say that excessive dirt, or any dirt, it getting on the tracks.

Hello flycaster,

I am glad to hear that you have been working with your dealership, but I apologize for any inconveniences with this seat concern. Additionally, we want you to feel that you are receiving the luxury you deserve with your ATS. Feel free to send me a PM if this is something that you would like me to look further into. Have a great evening and I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best,

Brandon M.
