I have a 2006, v6 SRX which currently has over 164,000 miles. The main issue I have had is it uses oil like crazy. Dealership says they would have to take the engine apart to find out why but I have researched and found that the SRX just uses a lot of oil. I have to add about a quart a week. I would like to purchase a newer model SRX and would appreciate any advice you can offer. I am looking at the years 2011 to 2014.

This site has been very helpful, by the way!

Do not get a 2010. Get a 2012 if you don't like CUE or get a 2013+ if you want CUE and some other safety goodies. The 2012 and newer got the 3.6 engine which is much better than the 3.0 and 2.8 turbo offered 2010-2011.

I do not recall 3.6 owners reporting any oil usage yet. Most have well under 100,000 miles, so not really enough time to determine if they will or not.

I would go for the '13 . The CUE is a nice feature. Our 2013 is down about 1/4 of a qt and it's due for an oil change at 19% and 4500 miles. My 2006 SRX did use two qts between oil changes.

13' Premium, amazing safety features, can be had for about $20k less than sticker if you shop it right, still under B2B for that price. Take a look at Auto Trader.

I'd say the '14 is the sweet spot now if you can handle the pricing. Better/faster CUE hardware than the '13 and intellibeam headlights.
