Adding remote start

I'm looking at a 2008 that doesn't have remote start, what's involved with adding that and about how much to have it installed?

I didn't know remote start wasn't an option on every escalade?
Every 2007+ Escalade has remote start. The one you're looking at either simply doesn't have it listed on the sticker or it may have an incorrect key fob without the button. But it is equipped with it regardless.

The Tahoes/Yukons and other full-size GM vehicles that did not come equipped with utilize a dealer accessory kit that adds the factory option by enabling it in the BCM and programming new key fobs. But any Escalade you look at that is 2007 or newer has it turned on and ready to go.
lol, you might be right. It's the top button on the remote? symbol like a circle?

FWIW, the owner said it did not have remote start. They haven't had it long so they might not have known or got a replacement key without it?

I'm not sure, they won't come off their price so it likely doesn't matter.

If you're looking at a 2008, then it should have the newer key fob (black, rectangular design with a brushed aluminum look at the bottom where the key ring goes) with the Cadillac logo on the back. Remote start should be the second button from the top, right underneath the lock/unlock buttons. And yes, it should be like a 3/4 circle with an arrow on one end. Hope this helps.
Dont forget first you have to depress the lock button and then depress and hold the start button.
Make sure it's enabled in the DIC and there are no DTC codes / MIL is off.
except I'm on ATT..lol

Local dealer, $235 installed for the 2-way remote start. Doesn't seem bad to me but I'm hearing conflicting reports on the range.
