This question is along the lines of another person with a CTS -- I have an '02 DTS with the "standard" Bose CD/Cassette stereo but not the factory XM radio option. I am wondering if anyone knows if you can buy the XM tuner module from GM and if so how it would plug into the car's wiring so I can get XM directly through the radio? When I press PTY I get the message "No Satellite Radio" so I take it the radio knows something about XM, it just doesn't have the equipment to operate it. I'd just assume not hook up a FM-modulated system through the antenna. Thanks!

You may be in luck. It looks like the new XM Commander tuner can be used with a harness and use the radio's controller. It's comming out for Satellite ready BMW's, but nothing yet about a harness for GM.

Here's the regular XM Commander:

Or you could hook up the Commander using a cassette adaper similar to what I did with my Pioneer 903. The cassette route will sound better than the FM modulated hook-up.
