Glad you did it. That was one of my first mods. Enjoy that supercharger whine while driving!

After I put mine on, I took the car to my favorite "Testing area" and put my foot in it. I was surprised at how fast the SC spooled up, and how much louder (a good louder) the whine was. Sounds like an F-18 coming in for a strafing run on afterburner. My seat of the pants dyno felt an improvement too. I was also surprised at how restrictive the stock air box was...

I hate to expect a increase in MPG with the better breathing but I know it will be worse with my foot in it all the time now.

Our of curiosity, what are you guys seeing as real world MPG differences between cold air induction and stock? Also does this mod violate the General's powertrain warranty?

I still have the one that came with my used purchase. The guy never installed it. Been debating whether to install it or not since it most definitely does not pass CARB in california.

Speaking of which, what's the difference between dry and wet?

Probably no mileage difference, no matter what you do these cars are going to be horrible on gas. I think the power increase you are feeling from this mod alone is physcological because you are hearing the whine of the supercharger more. If I want to hear that I whine I'll hop on a jet and take a vacation. I can't see wasting the time and energy with this mod alone, same goes for a exhaust, does not do much for you other than produce noise.

I just went through the warranty issue with my dealer...

Service writers say any non GM part (Intake or Exhaust) will void the powertrain warranty. This is actually GM policy.

Then I spoke to the service manager... He said those mods are OK and will not automatically void the warranty unless a GM area rep is checking the car in (Which they never are)

Now if you have a catastrophic problem and the intake or exhaust could be the cause, they will blame that part and not cover the repairs.

Hope this helps.

Ive already had extensive warranty work done. I do have a CAI and DOT drag radials they simply don't care about mods like that. If you had someone tell you that... they are lying and therefore unnecessarily screwing you. Go somewhere else.

There is some power to be gained by removing the restrictive stock air box:

No real MPG gain and according to my dealer, the warranty is not voided with this level of modification. They get a little uncooperative if the ECU has been unlocked and you blow an engine.

Thanks for posting, good video, I'm surprised there was 26 hp to be gained with just the Airaid intake and the Corsa exhaust, surprised me that there was that much with no tune.

As long as you disconnect the battery per Airaid instructions.. The video does not show this step as it is condensed for time savings... The factory computer will relearn the A/F ratio and make the necessary adjustments.

I did a Fuel Trim relearn through HP Tuners and figure that should allow it to relearn everything

This morning it drove awesome! The whine was great and it felt more peppy

Drove her all day today and that whine is addicting... If you're on the fence about this get off and do it!

As for more power- I dont know that I can feel 25hp but it feels better

as for MPG- It sucks cause I like the whine

MPG difference before and after intake=big fat 0 in this car. I've tried the intake in both my Vs and no difference.
