I bought a 2017 Premium Luxury foolishly assuming it had heads up display. Is there any way to install the OEM display after the fact?

It's doable..... but honestly it's not worth the effort.

Along with the HUD, you will also need the upgraded Instrument Cluster, and the Upper/Lower platinum leather dashboard trim... as well as the HUD dashboard buttons and required programming of the HUD and Instrument Cluster.

Also the platinum model has a different windshield to prevent reflections with the HUD.

GM has shared the LCD Instrument Cluster and Heads Up Display components with the Camaro and Chevy/GMC trucks. Others have performed this retrofit, but honestly for the outcome, it's not worth it. If you really want HUD, it would make more sense to trade in the Premium Luxury for a Platinum model.

I have a 2014 CTS luxury with cutout on dash for forward collision alert that shouldn't be to hard to physically do..but just to have my sh** projected on windshield.. don't think it's really worth it. That being said I've seen people talking about the full digital dash retrofit..if I could find a good deal on that plus HUD I'd make time for it.

Reading this has me reliving an experience (NIGHTMARE) with the dealer replacing the HUD on a 2012 Buick Lacrosse I had. The process THIS dealer took to replace it was Remove the two front seats, console, center stack and dropping the steering column just to get access to the HUD. Needless to say this dealer believed in hiring the local Handicapped Monkeys from the unemployment line. When the car was returned to me the touch screen in the center stack was DEAD. Black screen. None of the console and stack pieces were replaced properly. Where the stack meets with the console I had about a 3/8 gap on the left and NO gap on the right. When they were ether removing or replacing the seats they must have drug the seat mounting brackets on the door panels leaving gouges in the "soft touch" panel. You may be able to press the soft touch with you finger tip and it returns to it's shape but not if you drag a sharp object across it. The cherry on top was the thin clear plastic cover on the HUD was cracked But at least it worked.

Like previous posters have stated. IT ISN'T WORTH THE TROUBLE.
