Adaptive Cruise Control not functioning

I have a 2013 SRX Luxury and the Adaptive Cruise Control hasn't worked on this vehicle since i purchased it; I just get a "ACC temporarily unavailable" message whenever I try to set the speed. I took off the front bumper and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the three radar assemblies, and there's nothing blocking them on the exterior of the vehicle. There also doesn't seem to be anything mis-aligned with the camera that is positioned next to the rear-view mirror on the windshield.

Has anyone ran into this in the past? Is there a way to bypass the "adaptive" part and allow me to settle for old fashioned cruise control?

I would bet if the system thought there was an issue with the braking/abs system, it would not allow an automatic system like cruise control, adaptive or not, to function. I know I have seen this behavior on other vehicles. Not 100% sure but pretty close :p . Best bet is to take it in for a look see on the system and find out if there is a "hidden" trouble code affecting the system.

I've had troubles too, as the way it is programmed even if working, that if nothing sensed for a while it will go into a protective mode and force you to drive without cruise for a while until the system resets. Very annoying. And not just Caddy/GM. Lots of people complaining on the adaptive cruises for multiple manufacturers. It is hard coded by the system supplier.

The only time I didn't have cruise for extended time was when I had a problem with a parking sensor, which tripped a computer code. No cruise until the part replaced and code could be cleared.

Nope on old fashioned. You have to go all the way to the 2018 XT5 before the Adaptive Cruise allows you to revert to "classic" cruise.
