i just stopped sticking my used condoms in the air vents.
eww. I know what the OP is talking about from other cars and all I can add to this is to let it "air" out and the smell will go away.
If you're not willing to change your cabin filter then try this:
Make sure your car is at normal temperature and turn on the A/c Hi on highest heat and make sure the vent position is on the floor mode with recycle mode on (no air coming from out side) for 10min ~ 15min… the heat will kill all the germs and bacteria's in the air filter and vents that cussing the smell…

I got this advice from the Lexus garage….

This is NOT the best solution but you will feel the smell is reduced after.

Popup your hood and made sure the air grill near the windshield is clean
If you have an '03, there is a TSB to upgrade the PCM software. Basically it runs the blower for a short while after you turn the car off, to get rid of any condensation. Mildew likes to grow in dark wet places, and is what the smell usually is from. A dirty/damp cabin filter will do the same thing. They have charcoal in them to absorb odors, and do need periodic changing (although mine is 5 years old).

I changed my cabin filter laster year...unlike ODY.
Maybe it's the high pressure car washes???
Anyways...I'm gonna try the high heat option.

Thanks again guys!!!!:bouncy:
frigi-fresh...you put the A/C on high and spray it into the intake ducts, it'll completely eliminate any odors

now, this is what we used at my dealer, dunno if this is available to the public...but, I'm sure there are other consumer products available to purchase.

Part of the TSB requires the dealer to clean the system. I had this done last spring and have not had an issue since. If you are still under warranty your dealer should cover this.

Warranty sounds good.
I'll have them look at it.

I tried the high heat option and it does reduce the smell...just a little.

Nikon said it right. Airing out the car will not take the smell away. You have to KILL :thepan: the bacteria.

Lysol Disinfectant Spray. Comes in about 10 different aromas. It will kill the bacteria causing the smell. And its alot easier to get the Frigi Fresh, and works just as good.
Lysol in the Cabin Filter Area or do what most people do. Change It! :bouncy:

I did this, Lysol only works for a few weeks. It was not the solution.

If it worked for a few weeks, it WORKED! The problem is something else. Try turning off the A/C a few minutes before you shut off the car. Even a new filter wont take care of the problem if the smell keeps forming.

I agree...changing the filter does not help.
It has something to do with the evaporator core.
I ordered the frigi-fresh, just incase my dealer can't fix it...good to have a back up.
