I recently did it but I was swapping the exhaust manifolds at the same time so i had the Radiator and Condenser removed. I didn't find it particularly difficult, I removed the wheel and plastic trim in the wheel arch and slid it out the side.

Removing the E-fans , and radiator give the clearance to get at the two 13mm bolts at the rear of the compressor and the 15mm bolt securing manifold lines. Pulling the passenger side front wheel and inner plastic gives easy access to the two 15mm bolts on the front of the compressor. With the radiator out of the way , safe from any damage and makes job a whole lot easier.

First I will try changing the clutch assembly. I don't want to convert from R12 to 134a cause I heard 134a is not as efficient as R12 and I don't want to go thru a complete AC job.

Difficult , the path You have chosen will be ... clutch must be carefully spaced when installed or it will grab, chatter or just slip .
As far as converting , If You have access to R12 - stick with it ! Benefits are much cooler temps at less hp draw and lower head pressure (longer compressor life)

I Have to do a complete AC job. Changed clutch assembly but it didn't work. My compressor is bad . Now I have a problem getting the two rear bolts off of the compressor. Don't know what I have to remove to be able to get to them. They are button head bolts but I can't see if they are hex head or star.
Somebody please help !
I have a service manual ordered but it will be a couple of weeks before I receive it & I need help "NOW"!
