How does one shift out of park with no power so that I can move the car?

Parked it last evening and this afternoon , wanting to go out, I get in, stick in the key and presto! Nothing happened...no lights, no sounds or anything. Also, I cannot get it out of PARK and the key won't come out and I can't get the tailgate open

Look in your owners manual. Most cars have a button often in the shifter, you can press with a long thin object to release the shifter.
