Hi There, the names Mike, I own 3 Cadillacs and to add a bit of a twist also a 1997 Lincoln Town Car Cartier. But don't worry the Caddy's are my prized posessions. I have a 1993 Sixty Special Red with White Leather and Power Moonroof with about 21,000 miles on it, a 1993 Deville Spring Edition (which is really the wifes), it is white in colour with a white cloth top and white and red leather interior and of course our first Caddy a 1988 Sedan Deville in Colonial yellow with yellow leather and moonroof with 30K miles on it. I have been retired for over 6 years now and have been looking for something like this site to keep me entertained, I am an old foggy, but I still love to talk about cars all day long! Thanks For Welcoming Me Aboard! Regards To Everyone, Michael.

Welcome aboard, Mike! And thanks for signing up!! Wow, you've got a great collection of cars there!! I can't imagine how you decide which one you're going to drive.. A '97 Cartier?!?! I'd love to have one of those as well! I love Cadillacs - and I love my Fleetwood Brougham - but there really is something about the Lincoln Town Car Cartier.. The '95 through '97 are my favorites...

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yeah, I do have quite the collection, but the wife yells at me to sell them go figure! We drive primarily the Town Car which is cream white in colour with moonroof and CD-Changer. I was always a Caddy fan, but after I drove the Town Car I really liked it...some things about it we're nice. Like RWD and the easyness to work under the hood on certain items unlike my FWD's. I like some things about the Caddy better and some things about the Lincoln, but they are very similar. I must say though I find the Lincoln seats more firm and supportive then any of the Caddy's. But I do find the Caddy zippier off the line and more fuel efficicent, even though the lincoln has a smaller engine 4.6 vs. 4.9. The wife primarily drives the Sedan Deville as do I, if she is out I take the Fleetwood. But we never drive them all in winter. We use the Town Car for that, or the 93 Deville, it is the only Caddy that sees snow, but it gets oiled yearly and has no rust yet. Maybe because she and I are in Florida from Late December till the first week of April. I will post some pics of all my toys once I borrow my friends digital camera. The mileage is low on all of them because we don't really drive anywhere. We are both retired and enjoy going on the odd road trip but other than that we stay home and live in our garden. I spend more time washing and waxing every week then driving them. I ordered them all brand new off the showroom floor. First when we retired I bought the '88 Deville (needless to say we didin't go far with it... after hearing about the reliability of those cars a few years after they came out adn the 4.5L horror stories about them). I took every option to celebrate our retirement, the rare moonroof option (which I love tremendously) leather, dimming mirror, etc... Then in 91 when the newer body style came out I loved it, so we waited and I was going to take a 91 off the lot at model year end, but when I saw one with the white and red leather interior, I went weak, I loved that colour scheme, so I ordered a 1992 sixty special in that colour, with gold edition, moonroof, and those 6 spoke wheel rims (standard) I liked them the best with the wheel skirts. Then by the end of that year, the wife wanted a car to drive to go see her sister in California, so I was going to lend her the Fleetwood, but decided on taking advantage of GM's sales incventives during the downturn of 1993. We ordered a Spring Edition with the same interior colour, and digital dash. I liked the body coloured door handles and the carriage top on this car alot. I took the same rims as the Fleetwood only they have gold centre caps on them. I notice when I am in Florida ( I spend a lot of time going to dealerships looking at Caddy's) that they don't all have digital dashes down there. Up here in Canada, almost all of them, even the bare bones with cloth interior ones have digital, any one know why? So I have rambled on enough now, but thanks for the warm welcome and I will have those pictures up as soon as possible. I will take interior shots as well.

WELCOME!!!

You have one great collection there. Low miles on all of them that's great. No wonder why the wife wants you to sell them. I would hold on to those babies.

Sorry Just To Clarify my Town Car is a 1996, not a 1997 as I stated earlier in my first post.

Hello! I have one of the 5,292 1993 Sixty Specials also! Love it, but I don't use it. It has 9,400 miles on it and is showroom new. It's a very special one. Black-Orchid (Deep Plum) with white leather interior, 1 of 55 made in that paint color, and the only one with white leather. 1993 was the final year for white leather. She has every available option. Her picture is on here. I also just got a 2003 Town Car Cartier Limited Edition in Platinum-Jade Pearl. Great car! Smooth as silk and fabulous seats. Eats more fuel than the Caddy, but fels alot heavier. This board has a spot for 60 Special owners (I think that there are 3 or 4 here. I know of a Slate Green and a White. Go to Fleetwood/Fleetwood Brougham and click that & then the 60 Spec part opens.

Just an FYI to let you know, the '93 to '96 Fleetwood Brougham are the equivelant to the Town Car Cartier you've got. If you ever get the opportunity, you should drive one - to see what you think - and to compare. I'm guessing you'd REALLY like it. It's got everything the Town Car has AND lots of RWD power. :D

Hi Sal, actually I was able to drive a 95 Buick Roadmaster that belongs to my friend with the LT1 in it, he and I drove it on a trip down to Arizona. He claims it is the same as the Fleetwood Brougham except that the frame is a bit shorter on it. I loved the vehicle, it took right off from the stop light about twice as fast as my Town Car, in fact I literally couldn't beleive it. It handles unbeleivable as well. I never did have the oportunity to drive A Fleetwood Brougham though, except for an older 1991 Brougham D'elegance with a 350 in it that belongs to a business asssociate of mine. They are fantastic cars, I did ride in a 95 or 96 Fleetwood Brougham at one time and found every bit as comfortable as my Town Car. I was surprised myself that I bought the Town Cawr as I was always a die hard GM fan all these years.

Hi Sandy, thanks for the warm welcome. I will be sure to check out that Sixty Special section of this forum. Wow! I can't beleive you have a Sixty Special with that mileage. How did you end up buying it and hardly using it?You must like you're 2003 Town Car, mine also feels heavier compared to the Cadillac, but I find the Cadillac to me to seems to have more sprint when I gently push the gas pedal compared to the Lincoln. It is a shame Cadillac did away with the white leather in '93 I love the white with red and the white with blue accents (dash, carpet) that they used to have. It was real classy. Incidentally, how we're you able to find the production numbers of how many cars were made with these interior and exterior colour combinations. I would love to know if there is another Sixty Special out there like mine, so far I have never seen one.

Oh, well I'm not surprised at all, Mike. The Town Car has a special look and feel all its own. To me, there's just something about the front of that particular design that always has me looking twice.. If I could, I'd love to own both.. But I'd also love to have a '79 Eldorado Biarritz and a 92 Fleetwood Brougham as well.. :)

Hi caddyman93
I would sell them all and get a couple xlr
With the insurance you be paying in Hogtown you could save a couple thousand a year , still drive a caddy .lol
I pay about 1200.00 for a 99 sts, and that for a car outside the GTA.
Have a trip down south when you go and with weather today you must be ready to go

I work out of my home, therefore no commute, nor is driving a part of work. We (me & wife) share a Jeep Cherokee in the winter (Nov-March) and the 60 Special hibernates in the garage, with the Town Car.

If you want I'll send you what I have (everything) on the 1993 production stats of our Sixty Specials. e-mail me your address. I don't own a scanner, and it's many, many, many pages and waaaaay to much to type herein, taking up way to much bandwidth.
[email protected]

BTW, Andrew on here is ALSO from Canada & has a '93 Sixty Special

That would be me :)

Welcome Michael. The package Sandy is offering is the best data you'll come across, so be sure to take him up on it.

And you two need to drive your 60 Specials more, you're not getting all the enjoyment. :D

Andrew, all I need to do is raise the garage door and look at it! Driving is optional! My wife said "are we selling the 60 Special when the Town Car comes in? I replied, I am never, ever selling the 60 Special. THAT will be your job, when I am gone. We share a Jeep Cherokee from Nov. to March. Then, we share the Town Car from April to October. The Caddy is to take to Caddy Shows, Cruise Nights, and Sunday Eve rides from April thru September. Caddy comes out for holidays also in Spring & Summer. No, Not Halloween - That one's too risky! (You know, "flying" eggs!) ;)

Hi Mike, welcome aboard! Fellow Canuk from the West here. I thought I had the lowest mileage "older one" around here, I guess I'm in good company. Mine is pretty much identical to yours I think, except for the seats. Check mine out in the thread entitled "official cadillac picture thread." White interiors are beautiful. After Sandy told me how rare my color is, it's still my favorite. :D

I had a Grand Marquis with the 5 liter for 4 years, the same engine in the Lincolns that year (1991) and I also get much better mileage with the 4.9, and a lot more power prob. 'cause of the reduced weight, and it still floats like the big boys. Mind you, I felt safer in the big-ass Merc.
