I love this car .... didn't know the Mercury Monterey Marauder had the same type of interior as a Galaxy XL.
This is a New Mexico car, with a buy it now price of $9k.

The motor is a 390 Super Marauder V8, 4 barrel carb, 300 hp, with Multi-Drive Merc-O-Matic!

Great color combo, white over red leather. Rust free, just needs some upholstery work.
Seems like a decent price, considering the rarity.
Here is the link.

Chad could purchase it and have "bookends".

Interesting that they used the same 6 tailight treatment as an Impala. Much rather have an Impala, but I've never cared for the big Fords/Mercurys except for certain model Lincolns.

Very nice! The Marauder is kind of a forgotten giant, even when compared to the 500XL Galaxie. That's what we get for being attached to such an unmemorable brand like Mercury. The 390 is great but the 427 is insane, I think it was like 410hp, which was almost unheard of in 63-64.

Given how crappy the tires were back then, you'd have to buy new rear tires every 6 months from roasting them so much with a 427.

Hey, we used to change tires on the '57 Olds 98 Holiday about every 6 or 7 thousand miles!

If I had my choice of Marauder, it'd be a '69 Marauder X-100 as posted above. Total full-size badassery.
There are 2 I've seen around town. They are striking cars in person.

As a kid, we had a Merc 390. I thought it was a monster until my dad bought his Marquis 429.

Those were the days!

To be honest, between the early Marauders and early Impala SS's, I'd almost always take the Impala SS, with the exception of 1964.
