How many can's does it take and how many ounces should each can be?

Any recommendations on which specific ac cans are best are highly appreciated.

You won't know how many cans you need until you connect a pressure gauge in. It all depends how low it is. Also, I'd try to find the leak first, you can buy refrigerant with the leak dye included.

There should be a label under the hood specifying the refrigerant capacity when filled from a deep vacuum.

5 or 6 12 ounce cans. Or the thirty pound can. LOL. Refrigerant itself is pretty much all the same. Some come with different additives.
