A/C compressor oil

Gents---When a compressor ONLY is replaced on an 88 Eldo, how much oil is added to the compressor? The factory manual contradicts itself on this quantity. Best regards---John.

I keep a small oil can (filled with 134A oil) that has a lever pump action, about $4 at Wal-Mart. I usually pump about 5/6 strokes of oil into the compressor before I make the connection.
