I have a 99 STS when i start it in the morning it turns over about 3 times and its running , but when i go to start the car when its warmed up , it turns over abut 5 to six times and i have to let up and then try it one more time and it turns over about 4 more times and then it starts , i had a friend check for any codes and it not showing any, any one know what may be going on , it runs great , Thanks a New 1999 STS Owner , Frank:banghead:

The fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel into a vacuum line and causing a rich hot start mixture that ignites poorly.
Holding the throttle open slightly should make it start much easier.

To check it you can remove the engine cover, then on the right side of the fuel rail right next to the throttle body you will see a small round thing with a single vacuum line on it, if you remove the line I think you'll find some gasoline there, it should be dry.
You can start it up with the vacuum hose off, if gas sprays out it's bad for sure.
It's fairly easy to replace, but probably about 200 dollars at the dealership.

Fairly common problem on older Northstar engines.
