Especially when cold my car doesnt shift out of park. I either have to bang on the shifter really hard or just mess with it for ages befor it shifts. The trany seems excellent. Fluid is clean, shifts smoothly and effortlessly, no jerking and everything else seems normal. Also 9 times out of 10 whn its warmed up this doesnt happen. Any thoughts? I know that banging it into gear is eventually gonna cost me!

only thing i could think of im not even sure if it would have to do with it being warmed up or cold or anything

maybe the Break Engaging for Shift

u do use the break when you shift from Park to any other position correct ?

did not mean to sound like a A$$ when i asked that

when you engage the break do you feel or hear a clicking noise anywhere im not sure if our Seville are engaged electronically or if we have cables

i would go out to mine and check but its at the shop now

and i never really listen for it
but when im in 2 of the other GM vehicles we have
i can hear when the break engages to release the shift cable
so perhaps that is not engaging properly
