1999 - The chances are good to excellent that the cones and surrounds are shot. That's a speaker problem, not an electrical problem.

 

:yeah: Sounds like bad speakers to me too....Have you looked on eBay? You may be able to find a better deal than that but $40 a piece for new ones doesn't sound too bad actually.

 

Check if Infinity makes the size you need, they'll match up to the factory Bose amps and will be alot better than the paper cone crap

Not ALL Infinity's will be the correct impedance, but IIRC the Reference series has some low impedance options.

 

Which is what i put in my Eldo all the way around, and was referring to, i'd like to try the Kappa line, but too pricey

 

I replaced the 3 dash speakers direct from Bose. $126.60 was total including shipping. It sounds great now! Patty Bollack at Bose was a big help. Her direct line is 508-766-9522.

 

99 has dash and door or no door? I agree getting speakers as close to your face as possible but am not sure if dash depth has enough volume for good speaker size.

 

Dash and door. The dash speakers are tweeters. 8 speakers in all. Plenty of stereo for a 52 year old man such as myself.
