I have a 1999 Deville and am getting code P0741 (TCC Lock up). Is there a way to replace the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid without dropping the transmission? Is there a trick to get the side cover off to get at this solenoid?

I'm not having any transmission issues that I know of and OD seems to be working fine. We just had a transmission service done where they replaced the filter and changed the fluid. Then we started getting the code. Isn't that odd?

There is a trick. You need to replace the cradle bolts with threaded rod and a nut. The lower the nuts a little at a time, dropping the drivers side a little more. Just enough to access the side cover through the wheel well.
