I have a 1999 Deville with 40K miles. Every 2 days the "Check coolant level" warning appears. I refill the system and wait until the message appears again. I cannot see any visible leaks, but I do smell anti-freeze. Is this a common problem or are there any suggestions where to llok for the leak?

Check the water pump cover gasket and the side tanks. Side tanks leaks can be hard to find.

The radiators tend to crack also. Easiest way to find the leak is a pressure test, any shop can do it and its very cheap. The sooner you find the leak the better, as you will avoid alot of potential engine damage. Also have the coolant tested for exhaust gases, not being able to find the leak and smelling coolant are usually the early signs of a headgasket.
