HI,

I am brand new to the forum, so please bear with me. I believe that I need to replace the blend door actuator on my 99 deville concours. This past summer I experienced a problem where the drivers side was getting heat while the passenger side was getting a/c, eventually on a very hot day, the door moved and I got a/c on both sides.
It is now getting cold and I only get cold air ( floor vents with the blower going strong) from both sides. I tried the temperature up and down trick, but nothing has changed.
My questions are:
- I read that I could find out by a code which actuator is bad? Can I get this from the information center? Which code refers to which actuator? I assume I need to replace the temp value actuator?
- Any procedure to get to and replace the actuator. I have read here on the forum that it is behind the glove box. Are there any tricks or things to be careful about when replacing the actuator.

I'm really new to the forum as well. My 99 DeVille passenger side is always hot. As if the knob doesn't work at all.

Even when I press the knob to turn it off, it still is hot, versus cool (on econ) on the driver side.

Trick, tips, advice?

to check it...pull the glove box and the move the temp up and down and see if the actuator on top moves back and forth...it probably wont...so you will need to replaced that one
