Any similarities between the temperature controls of a 98 and 84 Eldorado? Just replaced the lower temperature control armature motor on my 98(thanks for all help) and in talking to a friend with a 84 Eldo, he said he is having hot/cold issues? I can get more details but it goes from cold to warm with no control changes.

NOPE -
you have a constant flow heater core -
and electric motors open and close doors to allow/restrict airflow through the heater core -

With a stable temperature between 65-85 selected the system should ideally vary vent temperature to keep the selected temperature in the car. Realistically in the summer it will probably run full throttle cold. Remove the glove box liner and verify that the aspirator hose is connected to the inlet under the dash pad to a nipple over the programmer. It will be readily apparent once you remove the liner. An '84 uses an electric motor to control hot/cold mix. The fact that the car is varying temperature tells us this motor is okay.
