I'm in need of an exhaust camshaft for a '98 STS engine. I don't have the car, my dad took it to a shop for what they thought was a knocking valve. Turns out something is wrong with the cam. $400 they say for a new one. Anyone have a really low mile cam somewhere? Or point me in the direction of one??

Don't know if any of you remember but I had a junkyard engine installed sometime in 2005 and now there's an issue with it!! And, I'm actually trying to sell the car!!!

Thanks. I emailed him. My dad called me back and said he got to see the cam. He said one, ONLY ONE, of the lobes is rounded off just about. Thus the knocking. It's pretty much just slapping the valve instead of pushing it. Sucks.

Well, just learned that those casting numbers are for a 4.0L Aurora motor. Not a 4.6L Caddy motor.

u sure they wont use the same cam?
I'm not sure. How can I find out?

Wow. Just went to GM Parts direct. The Exhaust camshafts are all the same for every northstar engine in the Allante, Seville, Eldorado, Deville and Aurora from 93-99. I'm glad I did some research. Thanks

CHRFab is definatly the way to go. i have these cams in my northstar fiero and it defifnatly wakes this car up. if you ever have any intentions of upgrading now is the time if you are going to spend the money anyhow. Alan and Diane are incredible to deal w/ as well.
