i am looking at either the avic-z120bt or AVH-p5200bt. I have them both coming. The gmos-06 is supposed to work for this. what other plugs do i need in the back of the radio besides antenna adapter? I am also reading that the front speakers will not work as this is the BOSE setup. no onstar. will it work or not? so basically, i want to keep the stock setup and just change the head unit. what is the best mounting kit for these? one is din the other is double din. what is the best approach without changing the whole system?

Your car is a 98 your onstar will never work
The kit you buy matters for what radio you buy.
You could go OEM nav would be the simplest install although not plug and play and it can usually be done for under a grand. Aftermaket requries the kit, harness, antenna adapter, radio and dealing with the problems that may crop up as the computer runs through these cars radios.

GMOS-06 will use your stock amp and speakers and interface your new hu with them. If your close I can help you with the install depending on where your located. The 06 is a crapshoot as you asked, some people have no problems some have tons, doesnt seem to have a rhyme or reason to it.

Yes since the CTS uses the DIC through the radio, youd have to hack up the old radio and relocate the board a bit to make that radio fit a double din radio.

Why looking to upgrade? just for nav?
