I need help with installing a CD changer in my '98 Eldorado. Every bit of research I've done on the Internet says that these models come pre-wired with the necessary cable and jack for the CD changer to be hooked up in the trunk. However, in a conversation I had with the techical guru at my local dealer, not all models do come pre-wired for the CD changer.

What I need now is the cable that was supposed to be run from the head unit to the trunk and I can't seem to find it (i.e. model number, availability, etc.). Any help would be very much appreciated.

I think there is a junction under the console. The actual cable and connector "should" be in the trunk but if not, the connector should be under the console.

I am the farthest thing from mechanically savvy... when you say under the console, are you talking about the gear/transmission shifter?

I'll check it out when I get out of work today.

Yup! where the shifter and center globox are....
