'98 Deville water pump leaking after replacement

First of all, let me apologize if this post was placed in the wrong section.
I replaced my water pump and when I put the new one in coolant just started flowing out from it. I don’t understand why? Is it seated incorrectly? New gaskets are in places. I turned it counterclockwise to put it in place. I put everything back and went to my reservoir to add coolant and it seemed like it just ran straight out. Too much came out for me to feel like it was just the weep hole. Any helpful information is appreciated. I can’t afford to take it to a proper mechanic. I have successfully completed other projects such as new radiator install. Oh this is 98 Cadillac deville with the dogbones up top (North Star engine)

Which side is it leaking from?

Not uncommon for the o ring on block side to become dislodged during install, need to lube it so it won't bind
If the cover side is leaking... Unless it has updated cover and gasket no suprise as they tend to leak.
My money is on o ring if it's just pouring out. You'll have to remove it and check at minimum.

This picture was before the install where I finally got the o ring to seat. I have picture of the other o ring seated to but I didn’t post it. I will remove the cover and try again. Maybe it became unseated? I did not crank or attempt to crank the engine. It seemed to be leaking g from the bottom. With the gasket and the cover it Pilsner be coming out the side where the hoses meet up, so it’s got to be coming out the timing belt side.

Your engine uses timing chains - the little belt you see is the water pump drive belt and tensioner system. While you're in there, change that little 3-rib pulley too. When - not if - it fails it gets very expensive in a hurry.

Well I didn’t put any of this sealant the first time around so that is why it leaked right out when I tested it, but hey it’s first time. Anyhow I realized a sensor had come a loose and once I got that back together it cranked like normal. So I put it all back together and now waiting 21 hours to let it cure. I gotta beat work by 15:00 hours today so I can only wait 21 hours or rather it will be 21 hours by then.
