Went to O'Reiley's and purchased a set of Monroe shocks, part # 30141. Car now sits back up in the air as it should. There is nothing fancy that you need to do to install these. Pull your fuse for the air compressor.

The problem with these "helper spring" type shocks, is the ride ends up being firmer than stock, ride height can be too high when unloaded, the rear can still sag when loaded, and more than a few people have had them get noisy.

Monroe ELC compatible shocks aren't very expensive at all. In fact, for the newer models, they're cheaper than the helper spring version.

And in the case the pump has failed, a manual fill hose kit is available for ~$15. Which can be used indefinitely, or until the pulp is replaced. Which costs just over $200 from Arnott for a repackaged OEM unit.

Which is the newer model shock? The closest replacement to the OEM shock is the Monroe 40046, and that costs $100 each.

By newer models, I was referring to the newer model Devilles/Sevilles. The ELC compatible shocks for those cost ~$60 a pair, shipped. Part# MA822.

I'm sorry for your loss -

coil-over shocks SUCK -
compared to the proper ELC shocks -

harsh ride -
NEVER at the correct ride-height -
WILL become noisy -

start saving up some money -
and when you have around $200 -
buy a pair of Monroe 40046 shocks -

it will feel like you're riding on a cloud - :cloud9:
