Okay, I've had it, im ready to start kicking and punching stuff. I bought the PAC SWI-x so i could use my steering wheel controls with my aftermarket radio.

the instructions say the interface bus wire is blue, i tried a green wire and cannot find the right wire or how to program this thing for the fricken life. i hold program and turn ignition on pressed the button once shut the igniton off.

turn ignition on blinks once, then i click program and the led illuminated and no what wire i hook it up to it goes out in 3 seconds, it also double blinked at me 3 times. ANYONE PLEASE HELP, IM FUSTURATED.

I MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT, JUST TELL ME WHICH WIRE IM SUPPOSE TO TAP INTO. THERE ARE ONLY FOUR WIRES NONE BLUE, GRAY, WHITE,BLACK , GREEN AND BLACK..

IM GOING TO GO APE SHIT AND SCREAM AT THIS COMPANY.

i KNOW ALL ABOUT THE SLEEP MODE PROBLEM AND CONNECTING THE RADIO IN THE TRUNK, I WANT THIS DONE FIRST I DISABLED MY ALARM SO THE HORN WONT BLOW ANYMORE.

anyone ever install one of these?
have you tried calling them on their toll-free support line? I called them to ask a question before buying one, and they seemed to know their stuff.
yeah they know there stuff but nothing about cadillac applications. now im going to have to probe probably 10 different wires until i find the right one. I'll repost with the correct wire for anyone with a future installation.
The thing is junk, never got it to work, sent it back for a new one that doesnt work either, i gave up.
I still do these frequently, and it is a pain if you've never done it before. You say you called PAC and they didn't know anything about Cadillac applications? I find that hard to believe. Did they tell you to go to the vehicle specific page and verify your installation? Did they tell you that the wire you're looking for is in a 4 pin plug right side of steering wheel column. Pin location C Dark Blue? I deal with PAC regularly and they are always very helpful. Here is your vehicle specific instructions page:

Like I said, the SWI-X's are a pain if you don't do them all the time, I seriously doubt you had two faulty modules back to back. Do you still have the SWI-X?

Yes, I have the module, I also recently installed a remote start /alarm flawlessly.

It came down to the point where I read the voltage readings from the signal wire to PAC and they said everything looked good. The Pac never responded to the different voltage/signal spikes.

Both Pac's would not detect any steering wheel buttons being pushed (voltage reference).

I talked with customer service and they sent me a new pac stating the old one is faulty. The replacement pac did the same thing.
