Does anyone know if the 97 SLS front break pads have the sensors in them?

I'm getting the front pads replaced and I got a quote for $169 from my dealer for no sensors, $232 with sensors if it has them. And if I want the rotors "machined" (supposedly so the brakes won't squeel) its $269 in all without sensors, and with sensors its $332

I'm not sure if I need the rotors machined but I'll need to know if it has the sensors or not... WhERE Addock when you need him..

Also, I'm thinking I can probably do it a lot cheaper if I go to Advance auto, buy the pads, and have a trusted mechanic put 'em on. What do you guys think?

brake pad reply and Caddy items for sale, nearby!

Sup AirJigga, Just go to Pepboy and buy Raybestos Quiet stop pads, They have sensors on them and they go for $60 per pair, the entire front brake servive will run you about $120. Those are good pads.

:eek:fftopic:

I live in Boston also! (Hyde Park). You can't be a "Baller"
rollin on stock rims. Use those for the winter :spin:

I have some mint flawless 20" Chrome rims and tires for sale for $2200. Go to www.Enkei.com to take a look. I have the Kapones. They are i'd say about 93% new. The tires are BF Goodrich size 245/40/20 sports tires with 90% tread left. I bought them last year for $4000 and only had them on in warm weather. You can pay by of course cash and also credit card, My friend owns a rim shop. If interested email me at [email protected]

You might have seen me around town? I have a mint 1998 STS, brownish platinum (moonstone) in color. I have on a Custom Billed grill with Escalade emblem. True german HID lights (purplish white light, same as Bmw 745i) those mentioned rims with sports cross drilled rotors, legal tint. Sound system and woodgrain interior kit.

By the way I'm selling the STS with 60K miles (all stock) with 2001 STS 17" rims for $16,500 firm.... later

I would still get the rotors machined..... Not only will they not squeal, but it will make the brakes feel better...... If they're warped, it will be really vibrate-ey, and machine-ing them will clear that up.....

I also like making up my own words

HA, yeah I have stock rims but I'm ballin anyway. My car is 100% stock but the MSRP was over 50k new due to all the add ons. I love my stock rims and I'd rather tint my windows than put on different rims. The thing is... credit card bills, rent, and college loans, boozing, etc. take precedent over rims. I live in Brighton kiiiiiiiiid. Soon to be Waltham. peace.
