I have a friend who's 97 seville sls has a strange noise coming from the front when he makes a right hand turn. It doesn't sound like a cv joint to me(I guess it could be the beginning of a cv problem), but more like the sound of small rocks in the hubcab rolling around. It just started and someone told me it could be a brake sensor rubbing. Does anyone know anything about this or what could be the problem? Thanks, dv...

Hey there I am having a similiar problem!!! 1997 Cadillac Seville ~~SLS~~ When backing up there is a thug like possibly a rock caught (Cuz theres almost a catch or a slight hang up on the front right tire) Anyways we checked for dirt build up and made sure the pads and rotors were all good to go But in addition to the problem when backing up there is a grinding noise when comming to a final stop. This noise does not occur when initially braking and so once again we check for debri !! Pads are good everything as far as the brakes looks good yet this grind continues and sounds alot like it would when your pads are down to the medal!!! Love my car but after 150,000 its starting to get a little spendy!!! Bought it for 2800.00 with 144,000 miles on it have not had really any problems with the engine just seems like my structure is having problems!!! One other thing I am kinda concerned about is that I switched to a synthetic oil durring a routine oil change under the advice of the Rapid Oil Change Technician!! (F--king Idiot!!!!The tech and somewhat myself) Later I found out you arent suppose to switch oil in the engine so after that I switched back!! WORRIED About the engine !~!! Did I do something really BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? Thanks for your time!! WENDY :bigroll:

CV joint. If you get a clicking noise, like rocks rolling around, you can bet it's the CV joint.

Your problem sounds like a ball joint popping. I am willing to bet the lower ball joint is bad.

I am having the same sound when I am turning to the right. I only have 65000 miles on my car. I was kinda figureing it was the CV joints just starting to act up. I know it isn't the brakes cuase I just got those done 3 weeks ago, and before I did them the noise was there.
