My cadi 's temperature runs at about 197 when driving on the interstate. When Im on the city streets riding through the neighborhood if fluctuates between 203 and 222 sometimes 226. When I get out and back in the car after a quick trip to the corner store sometimes the temperature is as high as 232 is there a fan that should kick in when the car is shut off to keep the temperature from running this high and is the high 222 degree level normal while driving around town any info on this is greatly appreciated

Any small coolant puddles on the ground?. Perhaps the scent of coolant when you turn the car off after use?.

My '97 ran a consistent 206 (summer) and 213 (winter). 222 is a tad higher than normal, but the cooling fans don't even come on till 224. Check the drive belt tensioner, clean the bugs out of the condenser fins, check the cap to be sure it is holding pressure and the purge line to be sure it is clear.
