transaxle hot light coming on,engine idle,flashing. what causes that problem.

Unless you were towing a trailer, driving through death valley or climbing Pikes Peak, I would suspect a bad sensor.

Check the codes. You might have one of these:

P0712 - Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Circuit Low Input
P0713 - Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Circuit High Input
P0714 - Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent

Unless you were towing a trailer, driving through death valley or climbing Pikes Peak, I would suspect a bad sensor.

I just got back from a 5500 mile trip that included driving up Pikes Peak. I can testify that the Concours can handle this just fine (98 Concours). The coolant temp did get up to 233 (very short period of time) which is not a problem from I have read on this board. Brakes were at about 90 degrees at the brake check half way down. But the Tranny did great No problems. LOL
