Ok, here it goes. I bought this car 2 years ago. Last winter, early spring I started noticing some excessive bouncing and also a clunking/rattling noise from the front end. I figure it was the struts going bad, so I tooking my income tax and bought some new passive struts from Arnott. After taking off the struts, I decided to also at the same time, replace my Sway bar links, Outer tie rod ends, and my upper strut mounts. After install all these new parts and taking it to get an alignment, the excessive bounce is gone, but the clunking/rattling noises still are there. This tells me that my struts were bad and I fixed the bouncing, but there is another underlying problem causing the clunking/rattling noises. Has anyone had this problem or can give me any ideas where to go next?........Help, some road bumps makes the front end sound like it is gonna fall off on me.

I will see how hard it is to get to those sway bar bushings, but as for the Sway bar links, those were replaced when I did my struts. I mentioned that in my original post. Thanks though. I did jack up the car and was pushing and pulling my wheels. Seemed like the ball joints and also the tie rods were tight and still functioning as normal. I crawed under the car and I noticed some mounts. I dont know if these are body mounts or engine cradle mounts, but feeling them with my fingers, these bushings on both sides had some slits running down the sides of them. Anyone have some ideas which mounts these are and also if this could cause the noises? These mounts are basically under each front door jam, under the car.

I'm pretty sure you are talking abotu teh engine cradle bushings there are a total of four rear bushings if htey are cracked then replace them they can cause all sorts of noises and problems.

they aren't too expensive and very teasy to replace one by one
