I'm going to apologize ahead of time if this question sounds silly. The overflow tank in my 96 Deville is black. I have always had other cars that I can view the level through the tank. How is one to check the level in a tank that is black? How can I tell if coolant is needed? I must be missing something.

Thanks.

The lower half should be translucent. Fill it to that seam or about 4" below the filler neck base (half full).

Ranger, thanks for the info. For some reason my tank is not translucent on bottom half. It is all solid black. However, I see the seam for the top half and will use that as an indicator. Thanks again.
