I read a thread on here a few months ago about painting the leather gear shift knob with vinyl paint...I've purchased some paint that is a very close match to my interior, I just want to make sure I know how to remove( an reinstall) the knob before I play with it......So my question is how do I remove the gear shift knob? And when I remove it how do I get it back on without messing up the release button?

Thanks
Zack :bouncy:

I was the one that painted mine. This is the pic:

With the car off, drop the shifter all the way back to 1st gear. Look in front of the shifter (radio side). You will see a little 1/2" clip. Grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it out. Then just pull the shift handle up and off. You won't damage the button.

What type of paint is best for this?
