95 SLS cam broke! cheapest replacement?

1795 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  zonie77
I have a 95 seville SLS and the cam that drives the water pump, i think its the left intake cam, broke! I can get a replacement for $230 at a GM dealer but I really cant afford this. Can someone tell me where the best places are to get a replacement for less? Ive tried searching google, junkyard, online parts searches, used online part searches... Ive found nothing.

could you give links or numbers to the companies and maybe part numbers if you know them? Thanks a ton guys!

Someone mentioned that there is a cadillac specific site for use Cadillac parts. theoretically you should get a new cam, followers, and bearings, but you could probably slip in a used cam and it will very likely work for a long time.

the prices arent very reasonable though. but they do have a large, unsearchable, inventory. you gotta email them to get a part.

I just did a search on www.car-part.com for a camshaft for my 96 STS and found three in a beautiful searchable database. It even asked for the specific cam. One said $148.00 and two said call for a price. I think they have a beatuiful functional site and like it says - over 63 million parts.
