95 Eldorado N*, cooling fans will not come on. I noticed the problem about a week ago when I bought the car. I was in the processs of fixing a vaccum leak, fixed it, they miraculously came on shut the car off thought the problem was fixed and havnt been on since. Ive checked all mini/maxi fuses underhood and all check out fine. I even power/grounded the relays one by on and all click over so Im assuming theyre all fine. Ive been told it may be a coolant temp sensor? If it makes a difference my digidash coolant temp does come on and i do get a temp readout. Any advice would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks.

so i pulled my codes. Not sure if it matters if theyre history or current codes but this is what i got.

PO52 History-PCM Memory Reset
PO56 History- Transmission Input Speed Sensor
PO86 Current- Undefined Gear Ratio (Transmission Pressure Control)
PO109 History- Keep Alive Memory Reset PCM has lost primary battery power
P132 Current-Knock Sensor Circutry Failure
IO52 History- Keep Alive Memory Failure
A048 History- Low Refridgerant Pressure
SO36 History- Electronic Level Control Compressor Short to Ground/Open
SO60 History- Left Front Suspension Position Sensor Fault
SO61 History- Right Front Suspension Position Sensor Fault
SO71 History- Right Front Accelerator Fault

Nothing for cooling system but i think i may have found the answer to my transmission problems. The cars been stuck in second since ive got it. Even when i try to manual shift. Wont get 1st, 3rd, or 4th. What does all this mean? Means I need a Trans input speed sensor and trans pressure control switch? Any advice welcome.

so your saying air conditioning efficiency over rules overheating? I dont think im understanding that right lol. I figure even if it does have low refridgerant they would still kick on over 224, which they dont oddly enough.

well i lied. kinda. they do come on when it reaches 224 but it still gets to about 235. With a properly operating cooling system is that normal?
No sure what you mean. 235 is not normal. It CAN get to 235 even with the fans on if there is a problem. I would get a block test kit from Napa and test for exhaust gases in the coolant before going any farther.

I second this. I was chasing a strange overheating problem for more than a year. I threw alot of parts at it but didn't bother doing to block test since I wasn't getting the usual head gasket failure signs. Well I finally did one and sure enough, I had exhaust gases in the coolant.
