I have a stupid question- those 10 or so bolts that hold down the top cover of the intake; bolt has an oval shape rubber and oval shape steel washer. does the steel washer go against the intake cover or the head of the bolt? I know, there's no such thing as a stupid question. At least that's what my 3rd grade teacher told me.

The indent washer goes on the bolt first, indent down, then the rubber goes on and gets squished into the washer as you torque it down - think of a bottle cap seal.

But don't torque it down too tight. Get the correct torques setting. That is your overpressure relief. In the event of a backfire, the manifold lifts and vents the pressure.

Hope i am not junking up your thread.
To your deal. Lube between the bolt head and washer so the bolt can rotate so not to bind and twist the rubber.

My problem on mostly same subject.
1993 Eldorado 4.6 Northstar.
My Rubbers are worn out. Where can i get replacements? Anyone have part numbers?

Also while pulling the injectors one of the metal clips that holds the wireing to injector just flew away
I was working with it and it just disappeared.

So i need one or two of those also.

I'd be surprised if they are still available.. They were '93 and '94 only. Junkyard or maybe you can see what there might be at Lowe's in their oddball nuts and bolts drawers.
