I would like to gut out the whole factory sound system and re wire everything with new amp speakers and head unit. Any advice on this ? Could anyone tell me were to locate the factory amp. Would I be better off leaving the factory amps and just replacing speakers and head unit ? Thanks

You have some hoops to jump through: The original sound system HU is also part of the vehicle content theft, TheftLock and serial data bus systems, and it also makes a difference as to which of several original sound options are in the car

Do it wrong and the least that happens is some warning chimes and steering wheel features disappear - as the electrical problems compound, the car locks itself into a no-start condition.

Read a LOT down in Audio, Video, Security. The swap can be done, but it's a bit of a job.

Sub,

Can you point me to the Audio, Video, Security area?
Having trouble finding it.

Thanks,
