94 SLS will not gain power

My 94 SLS with 108K miles on it would not gain power this AM. I had just got on the interstate after filling up the tank. Prior to that it ran fine for 7 or 8 miles. As I tried to speed up I noticed that the engine seemed to be holding back and really straining to reach 55 - 60 MPH. Also, the service engine lite went on. It felt like it was in a lower gear, but the tach was registering 2800 RPM, so I think the tranny is ok. Any other thoughts.

Thanks

We're going to need the codes to help you. Read the thread below and post the codes here and we can help you more easily:

E-brake? Any unusual fuel or exhaust smells? What does the tranny fluid look/smell like?

Post the codes like mcowden says.
Any unusual noises from under the car? A plugged/broken cat will give you similar problem.
I think this may be a tranny problem after all. I had the car put on my mechanics computer and it did not register any codes for the service engine light. When the tranny is in the DRIVE (D) position the service engine light comes on at the point when the tranny should be shifting into high gear around 45 MPH not before. I also feel a slight surge, almost a down shift. The RPM's @ 50 MPH are 4200 (high). For chance I started out in the DRIVE (3) position and the tranny shifted fine and no service engine light comes on at 45MPH, also RPM's were 2800 @ 50 MPH. Is this possible? Any thoughts on what is going on?

Thanks
From your description it sounds like somthing to do with the TCC. But I need the codes to be sure. To get the codes, you do not need a scanner tool. You just hold down the "OFF" and warmer (red) buttons on the climate control panel (key in the on postition, with or without engine running). All of the LED's will light up, indicating that you are entering diagnostics mode. Then it will cycle through the codes. starting with the PCM codes. After it's done telling you the codes, it will display "PCM?". At the moment, you don't need to go any further, so you can just turn the key off to exit diagnostics mode.

Post your codes here and we can tell you what they mean.
I finally pulled the codes last night, here they are. PO86, PO94, IO32, IO33, IO34, IO37, IO39, AO37, TO72, SO22 SO36, and SO44. Hope these help you out. I appreciate your help.

Thanks
