So I've got a 94 Deville Concours 4.6L V8 DOHC that's got about 120,000mi on it and it's had a history of problems, most notably when I was forced to replace the engine after the headgasket blew and melted half the motor on a long distance drive I had to take. Now I baby it and only drive it around town with the new engine in (specs have been taken same engine from another 94 concours) and recently it's been having a hell of a lot of problems running rough, idling high/missing and I'd like to think it's a fuel/air mixture problem, but we'll see. Doing a bit of looking around and I see what looks like where a hose should be connected, but the connector is crimped off??!? I have pictures it's located to the right of the water pump drivebelt and to the left of the transaxle fluid dipstick, it's right below what looks to be the motor mount, it's been crimped off and i'm wondering that CAN'T be right..please any help would be much appreciated..thanks in advance!

btw I checked codes to find out what the deal might be and I got some RSS concerns, most notably S038 and another with P038

Pictures in the attachments, the first one is a good look at the crimped off bit, while the other two give a good placement of where it is. Thank you again, just need to know what that is and how bad that it's crimped off like that

That looks like the purge line. It purges air from the cooling system to the surge tank. You you have a nipple on the surge tank that is capped off? It would be on the side, near the top.
