I recently bought a 93 Deville that's a great old car, but the struts seem to be worm out. What am I looking at in cost and installation difficulty? Could it be something simpler? (The car has 134K miles on it)

Welcome aboard..... Thanks for signing up.....

I think your best bet is passive struts..... Check out KYBs website, and I think monroe makes them too...... Probably $50-$60/strut.....

I think its a pretty easy DIY also......

I paid about 120 buck for my front struts and installed them myself. The only I had while installing them was compressing the spring to put the new strut together. I had to take it to my buddies shop to use his big spring compressor. Other than that the job was simple even for a person with average knowledge and skill on working on cars.

Aftering installing the new struts you ae going to have to get an aligment.

The rear shocks was really simple job. The main thing with those is making sure you don't have a air leak in the air lines. The rear shock do cost a little more, I paid 200 buck for the pair.
