It might be a different motor that slides it back and forth. Or possibly a stripped gear. Check the service manual for details.

The sunroof glass may have 4 screws for adjustment, 2 in the inner side of each side rail. Those screws work loose over time and the glass jams in the track. #2 in the diagram.

This drawing is for my 2002 but they're all pretty close. Open the sunshade and look for the screws - maybe Torx types.

The glass should be flush at the front, flush to +0.5mm at the rear.
