I just bought my first newer cadillac(93 Eldorado Northstar). I have had mostly 60s and 70s cadillacs. anyway the question is on the coolant temp. It seems to me that it gets hot very quick. after 20 mins of driving it gets up to 224 degrees. Is this normal? A buddy of mine has a 2000 sedan deville and his stays right around 190. Any suggestions
p.s I was also told that if the car ever got around 230 shut it down.

Thanks for joining the caddy lovers.

About your engine getting that hot. Did you put some antifreeze in or do a coolant flush and they see what you get. Everyonece and awhile my eldo will get that high in temp but it is rare.
