'93 Coupe de Ville restoration project

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, new to owning cadillacs and new to America - so please go easy on me.

I recently bought a '93 Coupe DeVille in Burgundy inside and out with a half white roof and 158k on the clock. It runs great and I drive / float to work in it every day doing about 25 miles return.

I've got only 2 fault codes E85 and F46, both of which I will get around to sorting out eventually - on the F46, I know that the AC compressor bearings are also a little noisy so I am dreading that project. But before I get to that I want to get the exterior restored. It needs a few parts replaced and a new paint job.

If anyone knows where I might find the following parts I'd be grateful to hear from you:
- Front bumper guard (preferably in dark red)
- Front license plate bracket
- Plastic cladding at the bottom of the doors (some are loose, others are cracked)
- Original radio
- Drivers door arm-rest, in burgundy

Once I have made the appropriate exterior fixes (I've already ordered the new grille and broken lights), then I am going to either have it painted or do a DIY wrap job on it. Has anyone wrapped their caddy? And experiences they can share? I was thinking about making it a slightly brighter red with white and chrome detailing. Maybe even put a Union Jack on the roof - but that might be a bit over the top. If anyone has pictured of a wrapped deville of this shape, I love to see it.

Thanks

Mike

the local pick your part salvage yards here always have Deville's of this era, more sedans than coupes but most parts interchange. I visit on half-off sale days once per month. I doubt you will find a decent door panel in the color you want.. most armrests are shot anyway... consider recovering/repairing the one you have. The original "symphony sound" radios had a tendency to blow out the right channel... look for one with lower mileage so less hours turned on... the right channel is repairable for fairly cheap. The plastic cladding tends to break near the clips... I recommend epoxy if you have all the pieces.. dealers even used epoxy as an approved repair.

Thanks all for the really useful tips. Much appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what the best shop / repair manual I should get. There seems to be 3 options:
-GM's / Chiltons 1990-1998 Repair Manual
-1992 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Deville Shop Service Repair Manual - available as a book or CD
- Haynes Guide

Thanks

Mike
